When you look at your ministries, you must make a strong commitment to evaluate.  This is the only thing that will keep you from investing your resources in unfruitful areas.

  • Evaluate
  • Evaluate honestly
  • Evaluate honestly and then adjust.

To help you do this, we’ve created several evaluation forms.

  • Use the Ministry Evaluation Form to evaluate a particular program or ministry in your church. EVERY program or ministry in your church needs this kind of focus and his is something you should do on a regular basis, perhaps once a year. Look at your student ministry, deacons meetings, women’s ministry, small groups, Men’s Ministry and every single thing that happens in your church.
  • Use the Special Event Evaluation Form to evaluate that special event. Don’t do events because you’ve always done them – do them because they work.  And to determine if they are really effective, perform an honest evaluation using this form.

It’s what you stop doing, not what you start doing, that might make the most difference.  Work hard to create a culture of evaluation and focus your efforts on the things that work the best, honor God and stay within your strategy.  Stop doing things just because you’ve always done them or because other churches do them.
