When you look at your church, some things need an unusual amount of focus.  Jim Collins would call this your hedgehog.  Will Mancini calls this your Kingdom Concept.  Thom Rainer says this is what a Simple Church looks like.

Whatever term you choose, you must do the hard work of focusing your ministry efforts on a specific, God-given opportunity.  Trying to do everything will result in accomplishing nothing.

Clayton Christensen says, “If you are not guided by a clear sense of purpose, you’re likely to fritter away your time and energy on obtaining the most tangible, short-term signs of achievement, not what’s really important to you.”  This is true for churches as well.  If you don’t focus your time, energy and money (that’s what stewardship is about), you run the risk of short-term gain but little Kingdom impact.

What has God called your church to do?  Be willing to focus an unfair amount of time and resources there.

Chances are, there are some programs and ministries you need to STOP doing so you can focus that energy on your Kingdom Concept.  The next video will help you cancel a program or ministry the right way.
